What up Philippines! I can be brave on you too!
If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that I set myself a challenge to be brave this year, and I’ll admit that mostly it’s challenging myself to jump off high things. I did quite a few brave things in New Zealand, like Black Water Rafting, white water rafting and crazy high swings.
Now get ready for canyoneering!

Before all the jumping

What is canyoneering, you ask? Well basically it’s travelling through a canyon using any means necessary. In this case it means maneuvering over rapids, swimming though the most beautiful coloured water, hiking through jungle and most of all… jumping off high things.

A little bit of jungle trekking
Kawasan Falls is one of the more popular waterfalls on Cebu Island in the Philippines. Easily accessed, it makes a pretty picture for the traveller passing through. You can find more about that here. If you’re sticking around for a bit of an adventure, you can be taken to the very top of the canyon, and guided through the winding river until the very end… and if you’re brave enough, at the end of the 3 hour thrilling adventure, you can JUMP OFF KAWASAN FALLS. Now I’m not crazy, so I passed on that one. Matt had a go… I’m not saying he’s crazy, but if the shoe fits…

The waterfalls of NOPE. I took the long way down. Matt opted for the jump.
