Scuba Diving Ex-HMAS Brisbane

Ex-HMAS Brisbane is an ex missile destroyer navy vessel, purpose sunk off the coast of the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. Sunk in 2005, the wreck is now a thriving artificial reef, full of small marine life. Scuba Diving Ex-HMAS Brisbane was an easy, relaxing day.

Located 15 mins off the coast of Mooloolaba, ex-HMAS Brisbane was cruisy ride out on a fast boat. The dive was reasonably easy – the visibility was low, but the current was mild. The depth didn’t exceed 30 meters, and if you had your wreck specialty you could go inside the ship! Matt and I both got our specialty in Mexico.

Matt and I chose to scuba dive the ex-HMAS Brisbane with Sunreef. The boat was was comfortable and the guides knowledgeable. They ran a tight operation – very happy to recommend them!

The wreck still had some really interesting features – the Navy didn’t entirely gut it before retiring it. It’s was made scuba diving the ex-HMAS Brisbane one of the better wrecks I’ve experienced.

You can dive the ex-HMAS Brisbane all year round! Add it to your east coast of Australia Dive trail!
