After our ferry from Italy, we jumped on our BusAbout yacht in Split for a week of sailing. We spent our first day motoring out of split and getting to know everyone on the boat. There was about 30 of us in total. Matt and I were in one of four rooms above sea level, and were much nicer than the lower levels. We were on one of the higher priced sailing trips, and the crowd seemed friendly (and not too feral!!). The rules were set (no drugs on the boat, be back before 5am or be left behind) and we were let loose.

Sunsets in Croatia
We cruised straight to Hvar for an introduction to Croatian partying. The streets were thin and the bars were plentiful. It was a fun way to get to know each other!
When we woke in the morning we were heading into Mljet for a day of exploring.

We spent most of the day exploring a small island on one of the Mljet lakes. The water was cool and crystal clear.

Our yacht – the Dionis
We spent the night docked at Mljet, next to a bar, with a group of other boats and some locals. I learnt an important lesson about ordering drinks in a Croatian bar; make eye contact and yell your order. If you politely wait your turn, you will never get a drink. We got very tipsy, and had an awesome time. The only problem was that Matt and I weren’t sure how we were going to keep up for the rest of the week!
