You know you’re leaving a great team when you find these inspirational messages on your desk the last day of work. Feel the love.

The business had been going through a rough patch lately and someone had thoughtfully handed out these messages to everyone. My team gave them an upgrade and passed them on to me. They’re a smart-ass bunch, and I’ll miss them so much.

I had made a position change to the company’s corporate office, meaning that Matt and I would be moving from Wollongong to Perth. It was a brand new adventure – I’d never even been to Western Australia, so I was excited for a new place to explore.

Our last night, after all our belongings had been packed up into shipping containers by the removalist, we stayed at the Wollongong Novotel. They upgraded us to a ocean view suite so we could say a proper farewell to the east coast.

The next day was insane. Torrential rain slowed our journey to the airport, and we had to run across multiple car parks and terminals to make check-in. Luckily the flight was delayed from all the rain. We dried off in the Business Class lounge (company paid flight, yesssss), jumped on the planed, and I enjoyed my first business class experience.

We spent our first weekend scoping out Perth and Fremantle – we were lucky it was a public holiday weekend. I love it. We’re going to be very happy here.
