Whether it’s your first for fiftieth trip to Fremantle, the Fishing Boat Harbour is worth the visit every single time! It’s walking distance from the train station and the Fremantle Markets so it’s super easy to get to.
There always seems to be something going on in both winter and summer – music festivals, food and beer festivals, family days, pop up ice rinks… the possibilities are endless in the huge Esplanade Park just in front of the harbour.
There are plenty of places to have a good feed and a beverage. There’s the Bathers Beach House over looking Bathers Beach – the only place in Perth where they can serve a delicious beverage on the sand (I love the frose). There’s so many places to get some amazing fish and chips and other more fancy seafood options… and the area is currently getting an upgrade, so I can’t wait to see what new restaurants open up!
There’s some fun history to check out, including the Shipwreck Museum, statues and information about the fishing harbour and a beaut statue of Bon Scott – the leader singer of AC/DC.
Take a stroll along the wharf and head to my favourite spot… the Little Creatures brewery. Selling beers made locally, Little Creatures is an amazing spot to have a chilled afternoon in the sun, snack on some share food like their chilli mussels or have a delicious wood fire pizza!
Have you been to the Fishing Harbour? Do you have a favourite spot?
I loved visiting Freo! Little Creatures was probably my favorite spot too 🙂 so nice to sit there and relax at sunset
